Gasa Soup Pot

Gasa beef soup pot was the most expected food for horse-riders on the ancient tea-horse road in the past. Nowadays, it has become a very popular cuisine for all visitors. It is well-known in central Yunnan and has the reputation of "the first pot in central Yunnan". 

The quality of the soup pot depends on the meat quality and the dipping sauce. These two ingredients in Gasa soup pot are excellent. Beef belly from yellow cattle, breast fat, beef intestines, tripe, beef face, beef feet and beef offal are ingredients in Gasa soup pot. Bring the water to boil with high heat and simmer with low heat when cooking, which takes at least 4 hours. At least a dozen condiments are needed for preparing dipping sauce: a unique grass in Dai ethnic, wild coriander, mint, spicy chili pepper, Sichuan pepper, black cardamon, etc. The finished dish is delicious, spicy and fresh after the seasoning.

The finished dish is fat but not greasy, neither too hard nor too soft, and has an endless aftertaste in the mouth. It smells like raw yellow cattle, but you couldn`t taste it. It is so delicious that you will not be tired of having it every day.
