Qutuo Pass once was an area of strategic importance which is a vital communications line today. Qutuo Pass, commonly known as "the birthplace of Yunnan sweet fermented-rice wine"which has a 700-year-long brewing history of sweet fermented-rice wine dated back to the Yuan Dynasty.

The sweet fermented-rice uses the high quality glutinous rice as raw material, mixed with medicine cream after dinner carefully brewed from water, together with the wine taste sweet, and it will be stored in cool and dry place after several processing procedures. The finished product will come into being in 1 or 2 days, usually 3-5 days in cold winter. It's said that the water of the legend Mapao Well used to brew the sweet fermented-rice is commonly recommended. Brewed with the water, the sweet fermented-rice wine owns a peculiarly sweet and delicious flavor as well as enough nutritious.
